A Note About Holding Hands
Holding Hands is a relatively new organization that is uniquely positioned to adapt to various causes to assist local San Diegans in need. There are so many worthy causes but some charities are so large that you never really know where your donations are going and some may spend more dollars than desired on administrative and marketing expenses. From consulting with many friends and acquaintances, I learned that many individuals prefer to give to an organization that focuses on the local community. Finally, many people I consulted were interested in a charity that encouraged involvement on the decision making side, not just with donations of time or money.
The Holding Hands structure is very unique in that we adapt our focus and fundraising according to the ever changing needs of the San Diego community. In fact, Holding Hands will hold an open quarterly meeting and encourage participation from all its donors and volunteers. From that process, we will employ a shared approach to decide where time and
money is spent in the community for the upcoming quarter or quarters. This approach will allow individuals to both have a say in where their donations is going and be assured that their donations or effort is going specifically toward the designated cause or causes. In short, as San Diego changes, so does the focus of Holding Hands.
The fact that you are reading this page is step one and it is my hope that Holding Hands will be something very special for many years to come. It is so easy to just go through the motions and put blinders on regarding the many people in our community that are less fortunate than we are. However, if one takes the time to look, it is very easy to not only see only that there is unmet need but also that we all can make a positive difference. I am asking for your participation on any level you choose regarding the Holding Hands charity. There is no telling what amazing things can happen if people work together toward a common cause!

For HEROES ON THE HARBOR, Holding Hands is acting as a "pass through" entity with all proceeds going to Injured Marine Semper Fi Fund and Warrior Foundation, both 501 C 3 designees.
